Design and role
The programme’s aircraft overview separates mission roles, sensors and performance. The Tranche 3 entry is a production grouping; later upgrades must be tied to a country and date.

Solid-state, mechanically scanned array radar
Active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar developed by the original four Eurofighter consortium members. Commonly referred to as the Captor-E. Fitted to Qatari and Kuwaiti Eurofighters.
Upgraded Mk0, manufactured by Hendsoldt and Airbus. To be fitted to existing German and Spanish Eurofighters.
New (AESA) radar with additional electronic warfare capabilities. Manufactured in Edinburgh by Leonardo UK. To be fitted to existing Tranche 3 UK Eurofighters.
Since the formation of Eurofighter, the workshare split had been agreed at 33/33/21/13 (United Kingdom/Germany/Italy/Spain) based on the number of units being ordered by each contributing nation.

The system in detail
The programme’s aircraft overview separates mission roles, sensors and performance. The Tranche 3 entry is a production grouping; later upgrades must be tied to a country and date.
Compare documented radar, software and weapon standards rather than assuming that all Typhoons share the latest advertised configuration. Manufacturer performance descriptions are not independent combat evaluations.
Eurofighter Typhoon equipment records. Variants, orders and quantities are shown as reported in each inventory source; coverage is incomplete.
Air Force exact named equipment holdings: Eurofighter Typhoon (Tranche 1). Active, operational-reserve and training units excluding equipment in store; November 2025 IISS assessment. Named service only; no parent-force or national total inferred. Source role: AIRCRAFT / FTR. Original estimates, ranges, reporting names, reserve, lease and employment scopes retained; nested included counts are not added. Missile-system quantities mean launchers, not rounds. No readiness, crew, carried weapon, payload, factory-production or future order count inherited.
Air Force holdings of the exact named Eurofighter Typhoon component: active, reserve operational and training units, excluding equipment in store.
