| Source measurement | The LRSVM Morava ( Serbian : Лансер Ракета Самоходни Вишецевни Модуларни (ЛРСВМ) Морава , romanized : Lanser Raketa Samohodni Višecevni Modularni (LRSVM) Morava , named for the Morava river in Serbia) is a modular, multi-calibre, multi-pod self-propelled multiple rocket launcher designed and developed by the Serbian Military Technical Institute . The system is designed to offer subsystem modularity, enabling integration with wheeled or tracked platforms to fire unguided rockets of various calibres to engage targets at ranges between 8 km and 40 km.[source]LRSVM Morava · Lead; only the objects and conditions stated in this passage The range and direction correction system provides better accuracy with respect to its predecessors. The Morava can launch single rocket, partial ripple or full salvo, which can cover an area of 32 hectares. The LRSVM is equipped with fully automatic targeting control systems. The launch vehicle is fitted with an Inertial Navigation System (INS), GPS unit and absolute encoders for automatic positioning. Vehicle has ballistic computer with automatic or manual data input and firing elements computation. Rockets are launched directly form the cab or remotely form the vehicle. The LRSVM can fire single rockets or full salvo. A crew of three prepares this artillery system for firing within 45 seconds. It leaves firing position within 30 seconds.[source]LRSVM Morava · Design; only the objects and conditions stated in this passage The launch vehicle is reloaded within 5 minutes and a full salvo duration is 15-25 seconds depending on the rocket type.[source]LRSVM Morava · Design; only the objects and conditions stated in this passage There are several domestic models of rockets, within models there are several types (different warheads and fuses for example) and there are also possibilities to use all models of Grad 122mm rockets from manufactures worldwide. New model of Oganj rocket with extended range of 30 km which uses inertial guidance firing controller to achieve better CEP is ready to go in production. There is also in final stage of development new 50 km range rocket.[source]LRSVM Morava · Rockets; only the objects and conditions stated in this passage Oganj 128mm container[source]LRSVM Morava · Gallery; only the objects and conditions stated in this passage New Serbian Modular multiple rocket launcher (LRSVM) which can fire various rockets as 128mm Oganj (mounted on truck on picture), 122mm Grad (container in front of truck on picture) and 128mm Plamen. System is mounted on new FAP 1118 truck. "Partner 2011" military fair.[source]LRSVM Morava · Gallery; only the objects and conditions stated in this passage | The Type 63 multiple rocket launcher is a towed, 12-tube, 107mm rocket launcher produced by the People's Republic of China in the early 1960s and later exported and manufactured globally. Although no longer serving with active infantry units, the Type 63 is still in People's Liberation Army service with specialized formations such as mountain infantry units and special forces detachments. The Type 63 was widely used in the PLA until the late 1980s. It was adopted as the successor of the Type 50-5 of 102mm.[source]Type 63 multiple rocket launcher · Lead; only the objects and conditions stated in this passage China has also developed a Type 63 multiple rocket launcher of 130mm . The RPU-14 is a Soviet 140mm MRL of similar design to the Type 63.[source]Type 63 multiple rocket launcher · Lead; only the objects and conditions stated in this passage The launcher's 12 tubes are arranged in three removable rows of four, mounted on a single-axle carriage with rubber tires. The Type 63 originally fired an 18.8 kilogram rocket (Type 63-2) with a 1.3 kilogram warhead. Ammunition for the Type 63 was later improved (Type 75 and Type 81 series), although the overall weight of the rocket remained the same. A fixed amount of propellant is contained in the rocket motor. The steel-cased rocket is stabilized with spin imparted by six angled nozzles in its base. The Type 63 was distributed on the basis of six per infantry regiment, or 18 per infantry division. For airborne and mountain units the lighter Type 63-I was developed.[source]Type 63 multiple rocket launcher · Description; only the objects and conditions stated in this passage NATO and western sources have used the Soviet-style designation BM-12 to describe this weapon system, and further even ascribe Soviet origin and initial manufacture of both launcher and rockets. However, there is no evidence in non-western sources of Soviet development or production, or of the BM-12 moniker being applied. Very similar Type 50-5 or Type 488 102mm rockets were manufactured in China and used in the Korean War prior to development of the Type 63. |
